Schedule:

  • After School (3.30 to 6 pm)
  • Weekday Evenings as needed (Tue-Fri)
  • Weekends as needed (Occasionally for marketing events)

Ability to commute/drive and teach in these locations:

  • Celina, TX, Mckinney, 75035, Allen, TX 75070 and Frisco, TX
  • Reliably commute to locations within the DFW area.

QUALIFICATIONS

Education: Associate or Bachelor’s Degree (Required)

Experience:

  • Teaching or Tutoring: 2 years (Preferred)
  • Robotics or Robotics Coaching: 1 year (Preferred)
  • Coding, Technical, or Computer Science Background (Required)

License/Certification:

  • Driver’s License (Required)
  • Teacher Certification or Programming Certification (Preferred

Pay: $20.00 – $35.00 per hour (based on experience)

Expected hours: 5 – 20 per week

AfterSchool Coding & Robotics Program Coach for kids (ages 6-14)

Job Type: Hybrid, PART-TIME – Onsite & Virtual hours (4-7 pm weekday eve & weekend hrs)

Job Location: Techie Factory – Frisco, Allen, Mckinney & Plano, TX.

Job Period: Work days follow the Frisco ISD/Mckinney ISD school calendar.

Your responsibilities as a Techie Factory Instructor will include the following:

  • Teach & manage after-school enrichment programs between 4 PM to 7:00 PM on weekdays and between 10 AM to 6 PM on weekends.
  • Coach students and lead hands-on project work in the following topics – Lego Robotics Engineering, STEM projects, Coding (Java, Python, Javascript, Lua), Game Design, Digital Art & Animation, Video Production, & Coaching, and more!
  • Get kids excited about learning concepts in Robotics, STEAM, Game design, and coding in a fun and engaging manner.
  • Adapt the curriculum based on the child’s interests and track instructional goals to effectively engage learners.
  • Maintain a structured, safe and healthy classroom environment.
  • Understand Internet safety and safe behavior in the classroom. Encourage leadership and team building skills in the classroom.
  • Execute fun STEAM experiments and projects within a short notice and make the overall learning experience interactive and positive.
  • Apply out-of-the-box solutions to make the entire learning experience immersive and fun for all students.
  • Help students complete their projects and provide extension or differentiation when required.
  • Follow COVID protocols, and procedures in the classroom and at all times within the building.
  • Be responsible for classroom setup, software, and hardware setup, sign-in and sign-out procedures, cleanup, and snack distribution for students.
  • Be a role model for your students, and arrive on time every day with a positive, inclusive, professional, and upbeat attitude!

Required Skills:

  • Willingness to perform all job duties with a zesty and upbeat attitude.
  • Prior Tutoring/Teaching, Classroom, Robotics or Coding Experience.
  • Excellent verbal communication and presentation skills.
  • Excellent active listening skills and patience are equally important for this job.
